strawberries

sugar

cornstarch

melted butter
1
egg
1/2 cup
sugar
1 1/4 cup all purpose
flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 cup
sliced almonds
Mix strawberries with sugar and cornstarch until well coated and place in an 8" square baking dish . Heat oven to 400°F.
Blend butter, egg and sugar. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and stir into butter mixture until batter is smoth and thick. Drop batter by the spoonful over the berries, spreading slightly.
Scatter almonds over batter. Berries will be visible between dough. Bake 35 minutes or until batter is slightly browned and srtawberries are bubbly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
