What is Scotia Horticultural Congress?

Scotia Horticultural Congress is an annual event of the Nova Scotia vegetable and berry industries.

Scotia Horticultural Congress  has the potential to attract in the vacinity of 300 people interested in the horticultural industry, many of whom are from outside the province. Two days are packed with speakers both at plenary sessions of general interest and concurrent sessions on crop specific topics. A trade show of 40+ booths is integrated with breaks and luncheon to provide maximum interaction of those in attendance. Social events are scheduled for the fun side of things. The location is the Old Orchard Inn Convention Centre just outside Wolfville in the beautiful Annapolis Valley.  Even in the chilly days of January, it is worth a visit.

The Congress provides a platform to promote food crops, to disseminate recent research and technology, to inform producers of management and marketing techniques, to network with trade and government and to generally give a higher profile to our industry. Through the interaction of the various groups involved comes an exchange of information which crosses commodity specific lines, promotes new ideas and products and generally strengthens our potential for growth.

The Annual General Meetings of two groups are held during Hort Congress: Horticulture Nova Scotia and the NS Potato Marketing Board.
